Symposium Call for Abstracts

CALL FOR ABSTRACTS

2013 UAA Undergraduate Research & Discovery Symposium

The Office of Undergraduate Research & Scholarship solicits abstracts from undergraduates who have or are conducting original research or creative projects. Students whose abstracts are selected for inclusion in the Symposium will present their scholarly work as poster presentations as part of the celebration and recognition of undergraduate research at UAA. In addition, presenters will have their abstracts published in the Annual Proceedings of the 2013 Undergraduate Research and Discovery Symposium at UAA.
Students whose abstracts are accepted will be required to be present on Friday, April 19, 2013, from 2:00-3:00 pm in the Rasmuson Hall Lobby to discuss their research or creative project with other participants and attendees of the Symposium.

Students will also have the option of having their posters displayed April 15-18, in the Consortium Library on the Anchorage Campus as part of the Undergraduate Research Fair. Students need not be present for these events.

Abstract Guidelines:
Abstracts should follow formats consistent with the published literature in the applicant’s field of study and should not exceed 250 words. Please consult with your faculty mentor or advisor.

Submission Guidelines:
In order to be considered for participation in the 2013 Undergraduate Research & Discovery Symposium, abstracts must be received by the Office of Undergraduate Research & Scholarship by March 18, 2013. Abstracts will be reviewed by Faculty Associate for Undergraduate Research and students will be notified of the status of their abstracts within a week.
