Chancellor's Awards For Excellence 2010
The Chancellor's Awards promote excellence in what we do and recognize individuals and groups for their exceptional service to the university community. The award recipients will be announced and celebrated during the 2010 Faculty and Staff Convocation in August.
Current UAA staff and faculty, including adjunct faculty, may be nominated for these awards across campuses and units. However, employees whose primary job duties include university diversity or sustainability functions are not eligible for nomination in those award categories. The criteria for these seven awards are shown below.

University Diversity – Individual
- Making significant and positive differences in enhancing diversity on campus
- Increasing visibility, representing diverse voices, advocating, showing program initiative, and creating a sense of community as a public square.
University Sustainability – Individual
- Reducing UAA's impact on the environment
- Educating students on sustainability for the planet
- Developing systems and work processes to help UAA in their sustainability efforts
- Fostering community partnerships in Alaska's sustainability efforts
Excellence in Teaching - Individual (New this year)
- Making a significant and positive impact on the lives of students by enlisting students to participate in recognized research, engagement, and/or creative activities.
Excellence in Research - Individual (New this year)
- Making a significant and positive impact in your field of study and to UAA by participating in research, engagement or creative activities.
Faculty or Staff Service to Students - Individual
- Demonstrated, well recognized, sustained, or recent special effort, by a faculty or staff person that was of significant value and merit, such that a significant group of students have benefited from the effort.
University Small Team Collaboration
(Team/Unit < 25 participants)
- Significant contributions or efficiencies through collaboration with others
- Research, creative activity, scholarship
- Program design, service or delivery resulted in outstanding outcome with constituencies
- Significant contributions or efficiencies through collaboration with others
- Research, creative activity, scholarship
- Program design, services or delivery resulted in outstanding outcome with constituencies
University Large Team Collaboration
(Team/Unit > 25 participants)
- Significant contributions or efficiencies through collaboration with others
- Research, creative activity, scholarship
- Program design, services or delivery resulted in outstanding outcome with constituencies
- Faculty or Staff Service to Students
