Idea Bank Functional Managers Administration Guide

Instructions for functional suggestion review:

  1. Determine if suggestion is constructive

A suggestion is considered constructive when:
    • Improves the efficiency of a department, program, or procedure.
    • Improves services that support the University.
    • Eliminates unnecessary procedures or duplication of effort.
    • Saves time, money, or materials.

  2. If a suggestion is not constructive, enter a response explaining that decision, select not acceptable under status and finish by clicking update.
  3. If the suggestion is constructive, take up to 30 days to review the merits of the suggestion and decide what action to take.  If the suggestion needs additional review time beyond 30 days, submit an interim response and click on status and select In Progress.  Once a final decision on the suggestion is made, provide a response and click on status, selecting Completed.  Also, provide a response for the official website comment.
  4. If an email has been included with the suggestion, send response to that address as well as publishing the response on the website.

Reassigning Categories:
  1. Determine if suggestion belongs in another category.
  2. Place a comment in the internal log for future review.
  3. Select new category from drag down menu.
  4. Click on Change Category.
