To internationalize the curriculum by incorporating global/international/cross-cultural perspectives into all appropriate programs.

To increase the participation rate of students in our extensive study abroad options and to expand these options including coordinated study and work abroad programs for appropriate degrees.

III. Community-based Learning & Research: Internships, Field Experiences, Clinical Practicum's, and Service Learning

Facilitators: Beth Sirles & Diane Hirshberg
To support internships and community learning opportunities with international and intercultural agencies; to partner with non-profit agencies, businesses, social services, health organizations, community-based organizations such as those in the arts and humanities, and civic and tribal governments.

IV. Faculty & Staff Development

Facilitators: Lynn Koshiyama & Tara Smith
To expand the internationalization of the faculty and staff through faculty development (cross-cultural training, research abroad, workshops/seminars, conferences, teacher exchanges) and through hiring; to expand the support for short term international visiting scholars; to incorporate the perspective of the international faculty.

V. International Students & Diversity

To increase enrollment of international students and make support available to them to help them maximize their educational experience at UAA and thereby enrich the diversity of the learning environment for the entire UAA community. VI. Research & Creative Activity

To support international and intercultural research and creative activity both here and abroad; to seek and provide students, staff, and faculty engagement at forums for the exchange of research and creative activity; to encourage faculty in all areas to participate in research abroad.
