Misson, Values, and Goals

Our work is organized around our mission, values and goals:

Mission:

We are dedicated to increasing the meaningful and effective use of technology in teaching, learning, research and service in meeting the needs of the UAA communities we serve.

Values:

Our values include Excellence, Customer Focus, Innovation, Honesty, Integrity, Mutual Respect, Teamwork & Stewardship

Goals:

We focus our energy and work around nine IT Services Goals that are keyed against our Mission, Values and UAA’s strategic technology plan.

The “Business of IT” is managed with the understanding that our technology infrastructure and services must be clearly defined, operated to meet the high expectations of our customers, and remain flexible in order to respond to UAA’s changing needs.

ITIL Philosophy

IT Services’ organization uses an ITIL framework.  We have fully implemented ITIL’s Incident, Problem, Change and Configuration management processes.  Our IT Call Center operates as an ITIL Service Bureau organization.  You can find out more about this important initiative by following the link on the left.

Balanced Business Scorecard

Our Balanced Scorecard reports our progress on key performance measures.  The Scorecard is an interactive tool that tracks 8 measures that are updated monthly.  It is an important way in which IT Services seeks to make our operations transparent and our work accountable to our customers and stakeholders.

IT Governance

Our IT Governance and Project Management have been in place since 1999 and have undergone refinement through continuous improvement, evaluation of our efforts and input from the community.

Policy

IT Governance bodies recommend and record policies on the UAA policy site.
