Meet with your Academic Advisor:
Students must petition to fulfill major requirements with Study Abroad. For this reason, it is important that early on you discuss your study abroad plans with your International Studies academic advisor. Study Abroad programs vary, and you will want to choose the program that best meets your academic as well as personal goals.
Office of International Affairs:
Students planning to study abroad need to meet with the International Affairs Coordinator in the Office of International Affairs. OIA will give you specific information about the programs, assist you with the application process, and help you with visa, health and financial arrangements. In order to maintain their admission status at UAA and possibly use their financial aid toward their study abroad experience, as well as maintain their Alaska residency for the permanent fund, students must go through the OIA to participate in study abroad.
