Transfer Credit

Transfer credit is determined by Enrollment Services (see right column, UAA Enrollment services).

 
AP Credit

Students with Advanced Placement (AP) Calculus credit should consult the placement test chart below for placement information.

 
CLEP Credit

The University of Alaska Anchorage will accept a limited number of CLEP credits. The maximum is three (3) credits for lower division, non-GER mathematics. Consult Chapter 8 on Non-Traditional Credit in the course catalog and contact Enrollment Services (see right column, Enrollment services) for assistance with transferring the credit. Contact the Department of Mathematical Sciences for guidance on choosing your next course.

 
Placement Tests

If you have taken one of the following standardized tests within the last two years, you may use the chart below to determine which courses you are ready to take. You may be required to provide proof of your test score on the first day of class.

If you have not taken one of the above standardized tests recently, have not recently completed a high school course, or are still unsure, please take the Accuplacer placement test at the University Center.

What math GER course should you take?

There are multiple math courses that satisfy the GER quantitative skills requirement. You should choose a course that best suits your background and major. You should consult with your advisor before making the decision. Consult the Quantitative Skills GER document for information about the various options.
