Festival Highlights

UAA's Alaska Native Studies held a very successful Alaska Native Oratory Society Statewide FESTIVAL on Saturday April 14thbat UAA. Thirty-two students competed in several categories: Oratory, spokenword/rap, humor, Storytelling, Native Language and Commemorative Narration.
Special guests included Melissa Henry (Dine), Dallas Goldtooth (Dakota), Ethan Petticrew (Unangax), David Sam (Tlingit), and the fantastic MC JACK DALTON
Participants won iPad3's in a drawing at the end of the day. Winners of the drawing: Warren Jones, Polly Andrews, Suzanne Andrew, Stanley Shields, Petla Noden, Amanda Andrew, Muhammad Arief Puronomo, Laura Orenga de Gaffory Natasha Haines
