University of Alaska Anchorage athletic director Dr. Steve Cobb announced today that KTUU-TV will broadcast nine Seawolf hockey games in 2004-05, including six live telecasts and the opening two games of the Alaska Airlines Governor’s Cup.
KTUU Channel 2’s broadcast package includes five home games and four road contests. Games at North Dakota (Dec. 4), Minnesota Duluth (Jan. 8), Wisconsin (Jan. 15) and at defending national champion Denver (Jan. 29) will be televised live to the Anchorage viewing area.
In addition, UAA’s home contest with Alaska Fairbanks Oct. 23 will also be aired live.
Home games against UAF (Oct. 22), Minnesota Duluth (Nov. 6), Wisconsin (Nov. 20) and North Dakota (Feb. 19) will be tape delayed.
“We are excited and pleased to have this opportunity to broadcast a number of Seawolf hockey games this season,” Dr. Cobb said.
“We are grateful to KTUU for televising these games and are appreciative of its efforts of expanding excitement for the UAA hockey program.”
“The WCHA is the premier collegiate hockey league and has produced four out of the last five NCAA Division I national champions,” said Channel 2 News Director John Tracy.
