The critically acclaimed Super Size Me filmmaker, and director Morgan Spurlock visits UAA Thursday, November 18, at 7:30 p.m. at the Williamson Auditorium.
The film Super Size Me will be shown first, followed by Spurlock’s lecture and Q&A.
Morgan Spurlock, founder of The Con, a production company based out of New York, won Best Director in the Documentary Competition at the 2004 Sundance Film Festival.
The film, Super Size Me, chronicles a 30-day period, in which Spurlock subjects himself to a “McDonald’s only” diet, super-sizing it whenever asked. Also in the film, Spurlock travels to 20 cities interviewing people on the streets, health experts, and a lobbyist for the fast food industry.
A graduate of New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, Spurlock has conceived and created more than 60 projects during his 12 years in the industry. Spurlock’s lecture will cover the making of the film, as well as hefty helping of America’s obsession with fast food, and what’s it’s doing to our health.
Super Size Me is Spurlock’s first feature film and he’s just returned from a tour of Japan and numerous speaking engagements around the country.
