Seawolves Return Home

ANCHORAGE, Alaska – The 2008 NCAA Division II West Regional and Great Northwest Athletic Conference champion University of Alaska Anchorage men’s and women's basketball teams will return to Anchorage on Friday and the public is invited to greet them upon their arrival at Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport. The men's team is scheduled to arrive at 7:46 p.m. on Friday via Northwest Airlines flight 845 at the main terminal. The women's team is scheduled to arrive at 9:37 p.m. on Friday via United Airlines flight 701 also at the main terminal. Well wishers are encouraged to arrive 15-20 minutes prior to arrival time and gather outside the security entrance.

Head Coach Rusty Osborne’s team advanced to the NCAA Division II Elite Eight for the second time in school history, earning a 55-52 win over California, Pa., in the national quarterfinals before falling 56-50 in the national semifinals to Augusta State. The Seawolves finished the season 29-6.

Head Coach Tim Moser's team advanced to the NCAA Division II Elite Eight for the first time in school history, earning a 71-65 overtime win over Franklin Pearce, in the national quarterfinals before falling 57-54 in the national semifinals to Northern Kentucky. The Seawolves finished the season 30-5.
