Clinic encourages children to take care of teeth

ANCHORAGE, AK – The University of Alaska Anchorage Dental Assisting Program will offer a free dental sealant clinic for children on Saturday, April 4 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the UAA Dental Clinic.  The clinic is open to children between the ages of 7 and 15 years who have newly erupted permanent teeth free of decay or have been advised that dental sealants will advance the health of their teeth.

UAA’s Dental Assisting Program prepares students to become skilled members of the dental health care team.  Assistants greatly increase the efficiency of the dentist in the delivery of oral health care and are valuable members of the dental care team.  They can work in private or group practice, and may focus their skills in general dentistry or a specialized field such as orthodontics.

No appointment is needed for the sealant clinic.  Children will be served on a first come, first served basis.  Call (907) 786-6923 for more information on the UAA Dental Clinic.  The clinic is located in the Allied Health Sciences Building on the corner of Providence Drive and Seawolf Drive.
