 Chris Sturm Digital Media Consultant
(907) 786-4463 | For Chris Sturm teaching began while picking up a few courses at a local community college. He was young, poor and tutoring college algebra math students. It made sense – it was a few extra bucks. So, why does he still work in education now? The people. There is nothing better than seeing the product of working with new people and new ideas. Chris' background in education goes back over the past 14 years and spans all age levels. Prior to UAA, his experience here in Alaska was the delivery of engaging, interactive college courses to rural Alaskan students. |
Here at UAA, Chris is the lead of the instructional design team and works with faculty and staff in the implementation of technology that makes sense. By this, Chris refers to using tools that are appropriate to the discipline and that work to engage students in their learning.
Outside of UAA Chris occupies himself with family and a little crooning and guitar-picking. Songs currently range from “The Wheels on the Bus” to “I’ve Been Working on the Railroad.” In addition to family and music, his life also includes a little wanderlust and, occasionally, a good book.
