Hotel Reservations
Conference rates are available at three hotels in downtown Anchorage. All are within walking distance of the Anchorage Museum, which will be the primary location of the 2008 Northern Research Forum. Please plan to arrive a few days early or remain in Anchorage after the conference and tour our beautiful state. We think you will find we have much to offer. The Hawthorn and Clarion lodging rates are $89.00 per night plus room tax; the Hotel Captain Cook is offering a range of rooms (deluxe to suites) at a slightly higher rate, so please select the location that best fits your needs. All hotels have wireless internet service available for their guests' use. You are certainly welcome to invite your families and guests to join you in Anchorage. Anchorage is a diverse city, and your guests will certainly enjoy the many sight-seeing and shopping opportunities while you attend the conference.
Clarion Suites: A five-minute walk to the conference hall; please download and submit this form if you would like to reserve lodging at the Anchorage Clarion Suites. Hotel Captain Cook: A 25-minute walk to the conference hall; the Hotel Captain Cook created a secure website for Northern Research Forum attendees and has provided you with several room choices. Transportation
You will find that numerous major airlines fly into the Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport, and a variety of reputable agencies offer the convenience of car rental pick-up and drop-off service at the airport terminal.
The Clarion and Hawthorn Suites offer free shuttle service 24 hours a day between the airport and their hotels. Shuttle service is not available from the Hotel Captain Cook; however, the taxi cabs in Anchorage are trustworthy, and you may hire/rent a cab at the airport to transport you from the airport to the Hotel Captain Cook. The hotels are all within walking distance of the Anchorage Museum.
