International research can add two exceptional components to your undergraduate education.  You will be able to gain an international perspective on your major while participating in the discovery and inquiry process of research.  No matter what you are studying, an international perspective will be invaluable to you as you enter into a global career or graduate school.  Conducting research in an international setting allows you to collaborate with international scholars to advance your research to a global level. 

International research can be daunting as start to think about the logistics of your work.  However, there are many resources available to help you.  Through national fellowships, study abroad programs, faculty mentors, and internships, the infrastructure needed for successful research can already be in place.  As you start to think about participating in international research, you should explore these university resources. 

Funding is also available to help conduct research abroad.  Scholarships for study abroad programs, research fellowships, and international graduate schools can help you fund your research.  UAA Undergraduate Research awards and grants can also apply to research overseas.
