Pickering Foreign Affairs Fellowship Program

This program is funded by the U.S. Department of State honors former Ambassador Pickering, one of the country's most respected Foreign Service Officers.  The Woodrow Wilson National Fellowship Foundation is seeking well-motivated and academically excellent sophomores, seniors, and recent graduates who represent all ethnic and social backgrounds.  Applicants must have a minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.2 and must be interested in becoming Foreign Service Officers in the U.S. Department of State.  Candidates should demonstrate academic strength in their coursework and participation in activities that highlight leadership potential and involvement in their communities. 

This fellowship is open to sophomores to fund their undergraduate education.  Seniors and recent graduates can apply for the fellowship to fund a master's program in public policy, international affairs, public administration, or academic fields such as business, economics, political science, sociology, or foreign languages).  The fellowship award includes full tuition and fees, living stipend, books, one round trip travel for the first and second years of graduate school, and a paid state department internship.  The deadline is early February.  The online application is at www.woodrow.org
