Researching Major Scholarships and Fellowships

The Office of Undergraduate Research and Scholarship (OURS) coordinates information about opportunities for undergraduates, including major prestigious scholarships and fellowships. Students interested in applying for major scholarships and fellowships should review the Listing of Major Scholarships on this site, and drop by or call the OURS office (786-1086) to schedule an appointment to talk with a staff member.

The internet can be an excellent source of information about scholarships and fellowships.

• Web sites put up by the major individual scholarships/fellowships are usually the best source for up-to-date information. See the Listing of Major Scholarships for information and sites.
• Most universities and colleges have information on their web sites designed to help undergraduates in their search for educational opportunities.
• In addition, professional organizations in the academic disciplines (e.g. American Chemical Society) and the professions (e.g. Association of American Medical Colleges) often have fellowship information and links on their web sites.
• Faculty members may also have information about opportunities within their discipline.
