Citation Appeals

Recipients of parking citations may appeal tickets if they believe that no violation of regulations occurred.

How do I file an appeal?
File an initial appeal online at The Permit Store within 14 days of the citation issue date.

How will I know what the outcome of the appeal is?
After the appeal is reviewed you will be sent an email through your inbox at The Permit Store, as well as your email on file. It will contain the decision and any information on what to do next.

What if I don't agree with the outcome?
The next step would be a formal appeal to the UAA Parking Appeals Board. This requires an appeal form and/or a written statement to the Appeals Board. Payment of the citation must be made in full before it can be heard.

The UAA Parking Appeals Board is made up of volunteers representing students, staff, and faculty. They make the decision about the appeal based on parking rules and regulations, and any extenuating circumstances.

The decision of the UAA Parking Appeals Board is final. There is not further review of appeals. The Board can decide to:
  - sustain or revoke the original fine,
  - reduce the fine,
  - or change the fine to a warning citation.
