I am UAA: In my 2.5 years with UAA I have embraced Higher Ed (previously in private industry) and seek to improve financial reporting and processes throughout our campus. I am excited about the positive outcomes of the Prioritization Process and am honored to be a Co-Chair of the Support/Function team as well as a member of the Steering committee.
I am UAA: As the Associate Vice Chancellor for Student Development and Dean of Students, I provide leadership for the Division of Student Development including the departments of Career Services, Residence Life, Student Health and Counseling, Student Life and Leadership, Student Union and Commuter Student Services and all functions of the Dean of Students Office. My primary goal is to foster student success by engaging students in learning opportunities that enhance their personal, social, cultural, moral, physical and cognitive growth. The intent is to create a campus environment that is both supportive and stimulating and provides a range of experiences in which personal development thrives and learning flourishes.
ANSEP Chief Administrative Officer
I am UAA: Jared has worked at UAA for nearly five years. First at the College of Education, where he was the Fiscal Manager, and now at ANSEP where is serves as the Chief Administrative Officer. Jared’s background is in public finance and accounting.

I am UAA: I have over 17 years of University of Alaska financial and administrative management experience working in and with a wide range of university organizations and functions including academic units, finance, and human resources. I love working for UAA; it encourages work and life balance. It has given me an opportunity to be part of a community that is dedicated to helping students achieve their dreams. UAA is an exciting and rewarding place to work and I consider myself extremely lucky to have had the opportunity to be part of this campus family for over 17 years!
Associate Professor of Accounting, College of Business & Pub
I am UAA: Soren’s broad range of experience includes a licensed CPA in the state of Alaska since 1985, and a 25 year active member of the Alaska Mountain Rescue Group. A UAA alumna with a Master’s in Business Administration, and former Associate Vice Chancellor of Budget & Finance, Soren was selected Teacher of the Year by the Accounting Club for 2011/2012.
Assistant Provost, Office of Academic Affairs
I am UAA: Monica has worked for UAA for over 17 years of which approximately 13 have been in the Office of Academic Affairs. As the Assistant Provost and a member of the Provost's Executive Team, Monica's responsibilities are wide ranging. Several of her duties include planning and budget, project management, strategic planning, personnel and recruitment, continuous improvement, and restructuring. She holds a master's degree in organizational development with an emphasis on change management for complex and distributed systems.
Associate Athletic Director (Compliance & Academics)
I am UAA: Dede has held the title as associate director of athletics at the University of Alaska Anchorage since 1994. Her responsibilities include the areas of academics and compliance as well as fulfilling the role of Senior Woman Administrator. She is currently the Chair of the West Region and a member of the 8-person National DII Women's Basketball Committee.
I am UAA: Lonnie started with UAA Facilities Planning & Construction in June 2012 bringing over 30 years of experience. Responsibilities include campus master planning, physical space management, capital improvement planning, and oversight of the digital CAD and GIS library. His biggest joy is to personally visit all University space during planning, because he planned federal facilities worldwide without ever seeing or visiting them!
Business Manager, Facilities & Campus Services
I am UAA: I work out of the Associate Vice Chancellor’s office, helping with department policies/processes, planning, and customer outreach. I have only been employed with UAA since March 2013; however, in my previous life I was a student leader with five years of extensive experience in university governance. I graduated in May 2012 with a BBA in Management from UAA’s College of Business and Public Policy, and am currently pursuing an MBA.
Director of Human Resource Services
I am UAA: I've worked in Human Resource Services at UAA since 2000 and taught here since 1998. I've been the Director of Human Resource Services since 2009. Prior to that I was Associate Director and Senior Human Resource Consultant. I was an adjunct instructor for College of Business and Public Policy from 1998 to 2013. Currently, I'm an adjunct instructor for the University Honors College working with the 49th State Fellows program. In my 15-year career with UAA, I've had the opportunity to work with hundreds of faculty, staff and students. It's been great being a part of growing Alaska's future.

I am UAA: Coming from a law enforcement background, I have worked at UAA since 2007, starting as the Parking Services Director. Although being in a higher education environment is fairly new to me, I thoroughly enjoy being part of this university. It is the students, staff, and faculty around me that enrich my experience here.

Professor of Civil/Environmental Engineering
I am UAA: I am a member of the Civil Engineering Faculty (1990-present). My professional interests are in the area of water and wastewater treatment, management and policy in rural and remote Alaska. I am currently engaged in developing a comprehensive text using computable document format (.CDF) for use in instruction, design and process development.
Associate Dean of Students
I am UAA: As a member of the Dean of Students Office team, I work with colleagues to provide programs and services designed to assist and support students in achieving their academic and personal success. I currently oversee Residence Life, Student Union and Commuter Student Services, Student Conduct, Student Care and Alcohol, Drug and Wellness Education. I am a three time Alum of UAA, to include and Bachelor and two Master's degree from the College of Education.
Director of the Multicultural Center
I am UAA: Hailing from Columbia, Missouri, Andre brings over 20 years of experience in higher education. He is passionate about students’ access, persistence and graduation! He likes that his experiences at UAA allow him to shape Alaskan students into scholars and leaders of the future.
I am UAA: I have worked at UAA since 2001 and with the Registrar’s Office since 2006. I thoroughly enjoy finding new efficient ways to improve processes that can make the university experience better for students, faculty, staff and alumni.
UA Center for Economic Development
I am UAA: Christi works with a dynamic team of University of Alaska professionals to provide technical assistance to community-based organizations engaged in economic development activities throughout Alaska. This includes strategic planning, feasibility studies, business planning, and market analysis, entrepreneurship ecosystem engagement, and corporate and professional coursework. She holds a CED (Certificate in Economic Development) from the International Economic Development Council as well as a Master of Business degree and a Master of Science degree in Resource Management, both from the University of Alaska Fairbanks.
