The Psychological Services Center (PSC) at the University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA)  is the training clinic for graduate students in the MS Clinical Psychology Program and the Joint PhD Program in Clinical-Community Psychology.

Services

Counseling is provided for families and individuals in an atmosphere sensitive to culture and ethnicity.  People are seen for many reasons from a curiosity about one's own potential to concerns such as anxiety, depression, stress, loss, and relationship difficulties.

Client privacy and confidentiality is observed. Students are welcomed in the PSC but clients do not need to be affiliated with UAA to receive services.  Because this is a training clinic that is closed on weekends, holidays, and school breaks, the Psychological Services Center is generally not a good match for people who have severe crises.

Providers

The PSC clinicians are graduate master and doctoral students who are supervised by licensed psychologists.  All services available are confidential and meet the ethical guidelines established by the American Psychological Association and HIPAA (the Health Information Portability and Accountability Act). 

Hours and Fees
Our operating hours are 8:00 am - 8:00 pm Monday through Thursday and Fridays from 8:00 am -5:00pm.  The clinic operates by appointment only, so please call (907)786-1795 to schedule an appointment or get more information about our services.

The low cost sliding fee schedule is based upon each individual's ability to pay and all funds are used to support the ongoing program at the center.

Registration and Intake Forms

If you have already spoken with staff in the clinic and you have scheduled a screening, please follow the appropriate link to complete the pre-appointment registration form.

If you have already completed a screening for either Child/Adolescent, Couples, or Group therapy, please print and complete the appropriate intake form as directed by the clinician, and bring it with you to your next appointment.

Center Staff
The Psychological Services Center staff consists of the Director, Patricia Sandberg,PhD., and Administrative Secretary, Katie Brandenburg. These individuals may be contacted either by email or by phone.
