Misconduct Committee

The Misconduct Committee is a federally mandated committee for institutions as set forth in 42 CRF Part 93 (CFR = Code of Federal Regulations).  This rule is posted and can be viewed on the Office of Research Integrity (ORI) website at http://ori.dhhs.gov/.

The Board of Regents Regulation R10.07.06 states:  "Misconduct" includes fabrication, falsification, plagiarism, or other practices that deviate from ethical standards and practices commonly accepted within the academic and scientific community for proposing, conducting, or reporting research, scholarly work, or creative activity.  Honest error or honest differences in analysis, interpretation or judgments of data will not be considered to be instances of misconduct.

Requirements for Institutional Policies and Procedures on Research Misconduct Under the New PHS Policies on Research Misconduct, 42 CFR Part 93  can be viewed at this link.
