Cama-i Room Peer Mentor

Position Type:  Student Assistant A (work-study)

Positions Available: positions available for Fall 2013 semester

Pay Rate:  $8.50 per hour / up to 20 hours per week

Cama-i Room Peer Mentors (PM) work evening hours and assist to create a welcoming atmosphere in the Cama-i Room while providing students with information regarding services and programs offered. The PM will create, facilitate and advertise for at least two programs per month and create a monthly bulletin board display. The PM will also be responsible for basic maintenance of the Cama-i Room.

The PM will meet one-on-one with their supervisor, the Alaska Native Rural Outreach Program (ANROP) Coordinator, bi-weekly to discuss job and academic performance. The PM will also meet with coworkers and supervisor bi-weekly to discuss Alaska Native and Native American cultures, leadership and team development, and overall operation of the Cama-i Room. 

Please note that this is a work-study position and preference will be given to applicants with Federal Work Study, a form of financial aid.
