RRANN is here to help you Make A Difference! The following services are offered to assist you, while you are working on your degree. Feel free to contact RRANN directly for additional information on the services listed below.
Advising
Prospective students interested in seeking a degree in nursing at UAA are encouraged to first, set-up an appointment to speak with a School of Nursing Academic Advisor (907) 786-4550. Their mission is to provide an accurate Plan of Study, which will include necessary classes and timelines, that will enable you to reach your educational and/or career goals. Afterwards, it is then recommended that you set up an appointment with RRANN. At that time, we can inform you of everything the program has to offer and assist you in obtaining your goals.
Housing

Nightingale Wing is located at West Residential Hall and is designed especially for nursing students, who wish to live together on the UAA campus. Nightingale Wing is divided into single, double and quad living suites and all residents are required to purchase a UAA meal card. Students interested in placement at Nightingale Wing are required to apply for housing through UAA Residential Life Program.
Nightingale Wing is considered one of the more quiet and academic focused residences on campus and Nursing students are given first priority for placement. RRANN hosts a weekly Lunch in the Lounge gathering, that's open for all RRANN participants. This is an opportunity for on-campus and off-campus residents to meet together, share course-work and make plans for social outings.

Mentors

Research has shown students who have mentors not only do better in school, but they are more likely to report satisfaction with their overall college experience. These students are also more likely to complete their academic program than students not involved in a mentor relationship.
RRANN Mentors volunteer their time to develop a friendly, helpful and supportive relationship with a pre-nursing student. The mentor and student agree to maintain weekly contact with each other via e-mail, telephone and face-to-face during the academic year.

Tutors
College level classes are challenging for all first year students and nursing students are required to be proficient in math and science course work. Therefore, RRANN has tutors available to help students be successful in completing the biology and chemistry requirements of the degree programs. Tutors are employed by UAA and they are available at no cost to all UAA pre-nursing and nursing students.
Tutor Request Form Stipends
RRANN provides a monthly, fixed sum of money called a "Stipend" that is made available for eligible RRANN Nursing Majors (all semesters) and RRANN Pre-Nursing (Fall & Spring semesters only) students, to help off-set school expenses. Click
