Campus Safety Alerts

November 28, 2007

Early last evening, the Anchorage Police Department (APD) received an anonymous report of a bomb threat to the University Center (UC).  According to APD, the report lacked specific details as to the date, time, or location.  APD notified UAA's University Police Department who then alerted UC occupants, UAA facilities and mall security.  No actual bomb was found. UPD assigned a police officer to the building and APD conducted extra patrols last evening.

As a reminder of what to do in the event of a bomb threat, we've included President Mark Hamilton's memo on this topic (sent to the University of Alaska Community in October) for your review.

The Campus Response Team (CRT) would also like to remind you to please watch out for any suspicious behavior or for unattended packages/bags. If you see anything out of the ordinary or of concern, please call UPD at 786-1120 immediately.

UAA remains open and operating a normal schedule today, November 28, 2007.
