The UAA Alumni Association awards six (6) $1000 scholarships each academic year to one student from each school or college at UAA, funds permitting.
Qualifications:
- Recipient will be chosen on their monetary need, scholastic success, community volunteer involvement, and leadership.
- Applicant should demonstrate motivation, academic, and leadership potential.
- Applicant must be in good academic standing with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.5 for undergraduate and 3.0 for graduate.
- Applicant must be formally admitted into a degree or certificate seeking program within one of the following UAA schools/colleges: College of Business and Public Policy, College of Arts and Sciences, College of Health and Social Welfare, Community & Technical College, School of Engineering, and the College of Education.
- Applicant must plan on enrolling full-time (12 credits for undergraduate, 9 credits for graduate) at UAA.
- Applicant may be an incoming or continuing student at UAA.
- Applicant may be a U.S. citizen, non-U.S. citizen, Alaska resident, or out-of-state resident.
- Preference will be given to students who are Alaska high school graduates, continuing UAA students, and/or students whose parent(s) graduated with a degree from the University of Alaska.
- Preference will be given to those who demonstrate financial need.
