Linda P. Lazzell Leadership Award*

The purpose of the Linda P. Lazzell Leadership Award is to provide financial assistance for tuition and other educational expenses to students at the University of Alaska Anchorage who have demonstrated individual initiative, responsibility, cooperation, creativity and leadership abilities. To promote and recognize exemplary contributions of students serving as leaders within UAA and offer financial assistance for their educational expenses.

Minimum annual award: $1,000

Qualifications:

• Recipient must have made meaningful contributions to enrich the campus community serving in one or more of these student leadership roles at UAA:
• • President, vice president, senator, or representative on a UAA student government;
  • Officer of a club at UAA;
  • Officer of a Greek Council at UAA;
  • Resident advisor in a residence hall/apartment at UAA;
  • Radio station manager or student newspaper editor at UAA; or
  • Student Manager (supervises other students) in a department within UAA Student Affairs (Student Development, Academic and Multicultural Student Services, Enrollment Management).
• Applicants must be in good academic standing with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.5 for undergraduate students and 3.0 for graduate students.
• Applicant must be formally admitted into a certificate- or degree-seeking program at the University of Alaska Anchorage.
• Recipient must be enrolled at least half-time (six (6) credits for undergraduate students, five (5) credits for graduate students) at the University of Alaska Anchorage in the semester for which the award is made.
