The purpose of the Kay & Perry Gines Scholarship is to offer financial assistance for tuition and other educational expenses to Military students (active, retired, or dependents of either) who are pursuing a course of study at Kodiak Community College.

Qualifications:

• Applicant should demonstrate motivation, academic, and leadership potential.
• Applicants must be in good academic standing with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.0.
• Applicant must be formally admitted to Kodiak Community College.
• Applicant must be active or retired military personnel or a dependent of military personnel.
• Applicant must be residing in the Kodiak Island Borough.
• Applying for tuition assistance does not disqualify any person from this scholarship.  However, all active duty Coast Guard personnel are required to apply for Tuition Assistance prior to applying for this scholarship.  Those who receive Tuition Assistance will be required to reimburse the scholarship fund for the amount of the scholarship they receive.
