Engineering & Science Management

The Engineering Management and Science Management curriculum is designed for graduate engineers and scientists who aspire to hold executive or managerial positions in technology-oriented organizations. The Engineering and Science Management Program at UAA offers two Master of Science degrees:

  • Master of Science, Science Management
  • Master of Science, Engineering Management

ESM graduates hold leadership positions in the  area of energy resource, green engineering, service operations, financial engineering, innovation design, healthcare, construction, oil & gas, mining, intelligent transportation, healthcare, information technology, education, military and government sectors.

Program Highlights

Fall 2014 ESPM Scholarship Available!

 American Society for Quality Scholarship

This summer we have the opportunity to award students up to $1800 for the American Society for Quality Scholarship. The selected student(s) will also be offered a seat to attend the upcoming ASQ conference.
The application deadline for American Society for Quality Scholarship is June 5th, 2014 by 5:00 pm. Please apply via UAOnline in the "Scholarship" section. Good luck!

Please note that each student is personally responsible for his or her student account. No student should refrain from making payment of their University account with the hope that the scholarship will be granted, or processed in time to avoid penalties for any missed payment deadlines.
BP Scholarship for Fall 2014

BP is offering several merit-based scholarships for the 2014 FALL SEMESTER (school year 2014-2015) for students interested in energy industry careers and as a way to create a pipeline of new talent for BP. The deadline to apply is 5:00 PM April 1st, 2014.

ESM and PM Graduate Students' Computer Lab is Open

ESM and PM graduate students are free to use the four recently completed computers in the lobby of UC 157 for their studies. These computers are currently available on a first come first served basis and as a shared resource. Please do not leave any personal or academic information on these computers as such information is cleared nightly.
Office Change!

Department Lead Dr. Wang's office has changed to UC 157B! The office is located left of the University Center Mall's main entrance, near Peppercini's Deli.
ESM Student Shawn Takak Featured In The Green and Gold!

Shawn TakakShawn Takak, a B.S. Engineering graduate has been chosen to be featured in the Green and Gold Alumni Profile column. Shawn received his Engineering degree in the year 2009 and is now pursuing a graduate level degree with the Engineering & Science Management program. He has been greatly involved in the ANSEP program and in a graduate research study with Dr. Muhammad Ali of the School of Engineering.
