The UAA Summer Engineering Academies offer a series of week-long hands-on instructional sessions for students entering grades 6 through 12. Each academy is designed to encourage interest and provide exposure to science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). The academies also seek to support historically underserved and underrepresented students who otherwise have limited opportunities for these experiences.
Each week-long session is targeted toward middle school (grades 6-9) and high school (grades 10-12), with each week exploring one of six different topics. This year's topics are:
Gears and Sprockets
All sessions are open until filled. Last year, almost every student who signed up was enrolled, so there is a good chance you will get into the session you want, but earliest registrants will receive the slots in popular sessions. A "waitlist" for each session/week will be maintained once a session is filled in the event of cancellations.
