About NWDP

NWDP

NWDP is the UAA's Nursing Workforce Diversity Program.  NWDP is a sister program to RRANN. Launched in 2007, the NWDP seeks to serve a diverse population of students in the AAS/BS nursing programs.  NWDP assists nursing students with social and moral support, providing tutoring services, group meetings and a staff that will facilitate and help guide you on YOUR ROAD to SUCCESS.

Additionally, if you meet the monthly program requirements, you will receive a MONTHLY CHECK for up to $250.00 per month while enrolled in the UAA nursing program and participating in NWDP.

NWDP is available now for both nurse majors and nurse pre-majors.  NWDP for pre-majors is only available to Anchorage students.

To qualify for NWDP, you must be a US citizen or Permanent Resident and must meet at least 2 out of 3 of the criteria listed:

1.ECONOMICALLY DISADVANTAGED.  You or your family's annual income falls below the current level of poverty set by the US government.

2. ETHNICALLY UNDER-REPRESENTED.  All ethnicities except Caucasian are under-represented in Alaska's RN workforce (students enrolled in the RRANN stipend program are not eligible).

3. EDUCATIONALLY DISADVANTAGED. If your parents did NOT graduate from college before you turned 18 years of age or if the ACCUPLACER test placed you into Preparatory level classes.

If you are a UA nursing major or pre-major APPLY TODAY and be part of a program that will help you succeed in your goal to become a NURSE.
