Motions Debated in 2014

The topic areas that will be debated in 2014 are:

Cigarettes

Managing Bankrupt Cities & Restoring Fiscal Viability

Polygamy

Participation of Political Parties in Emerging Democracies

Marijuana

Participants will not know which side they will be debating until 20 minutes prior to the round.

While announcing the topic area in advance does not truly conform to the World's style of debate, which is extemporaneous in nature, we believe that providing some predictability will enhance the overall quality of debates and aid debaters in the transition from formats that are prepared in nature.
