Who will actually move me? How long will it take?
GSS & World Wide Movers will complete the actual moves. Time will depend on the volume of stuff to be moved.
Can I see my new space ahead of time?
Your office coordinator should contact Eric Lopez (6-4919) vnerl@uaa.alaska.edu to arrange a time for your group to be shown their new space.
Who do I contact about boxes, tape and labels?
Tony Harkey in General Support Services (email Tony Harkey ) Send him your requests to get boxes, tape, and labels to move your office. You can arrange to have a representative from GSS meet with your department prior to your move to go over preparation details.
Who will pack my stuff?
You will be responsible for packing your own stuff.
Do I need to label everything?
Yes. If it is not labeled, it will not be moved.
Will I be able to take my current furniture? What if I need new furniture to fit into my new space? What if I need additional items like chairs, bookcases, etc.?
That will depend on what’s available in your new office. Please contact your immediate supervisor.
Who do I contact about phones, faxes, printers & computers?
Karolyn Liggon (email karolynn.liggon@uaa.alaska.edu) She’ll need a listing of all your current phone, computer, printer and fax jack numbers and the jack numbers from your new area. The IT team will make sure that computers and phones have an available outlet and actually work when they get plugged in.
How long will my computer be down?
You will need to contact UAA Information Technology at (6-4646).
Will I have the same phone number?
If you are moving from one location on campus to another location on campus, you will retain your current number, however if you are moving off campus, say to the Diplomacy Building you will get a new number.
Will my new office be painted before I move in?
A complete paint job may not be possible. However, touchup of damaged areas can be done, as well as unsightly screws, etc., removed.
Will the stain on the carpet of my new office be cleaned before I move in?
Yes, Maintenance can try to remove serious stains. Your office move coordinator should make a complete list of carpet problems and send that list to Suzie Arnold (6-4646).
Who should I contact if I need something for my new office (chair, desk, bookcase)?
Your office move coordinator should talk to Tony Harkey to see if what you need can be located in surplus.
What about turning in my old key and getting a key to my new office?
Phillip Bacher in Facilities Maintenance, ph. 6-6990, fax 6-6989 will handle key requests if a rekeying chart and key request is filled out, signed and sent to him.
