The mission of the UAA Student Support Services Program is to enhance the academic skills of eligible students, thereby enabling them to persist in college and to graduate.

The program provides intensive and comprehensive services, not otherwise available to SSS students, to address their academic and non-academic needs. Individual monitoring, advising, and a referral process helps to ensure that students take full advantage of the services and activities offered on campus. Student services unique to SSS include a thorough needs assessment, the development of an Academic Success Plan (ASP) for each participant; and an intensive guidance component that includes one-to-one and group advising, tutoring, career guidance and mentoring.

Both the mission and services offered are directly related to our six main goals (objectives).
