"What's in a Name?"
Presented by Kerry Davis
The smallest gestures can significantly impact both students’ lives and workplace quality. Saying hello, asking names, simply remembering individuals makes the difference between “random student” and “engaged student leader”. We contribute to student retention/success and to a positive working environment through kindness to both our students and to each other.
Kerry Davis attended and worked at the University of Idaho in Moscow, where she received her BA in Poetry with an emphasis in communications, and completed her MFA in Literary Nonfiction at UAA while working with Student Media and Student Activities. Celebrating her 10th year with UAA, Kerry now serves as office manager for the Department Residence Life. In addition, she is a SafeZone trainer; co-advisor of The Family, UAA's LGBTQA student club; and is a former adjunct faculty member. In her free time, Kerry enjoys spending time with her partner and their dogs, Sammy Davis Jr. Jr. and Sadie, and she enjoys hiking, writing, and planning parties and elaborate costumes for others.
