"Pass the Seal Oil Please!"
Presented by Karla Booth
There's a lot to learn from cultures and communities that are thousands of years old! Lucky us…we have students attending UAA that are from these rich cultures. Together lets create environments that are welcoming so we can learn from our students and they can flourish while they are with us.
I have pride in my Alaska Native heritage and I am passionate about serving Alaska Native students. Karla Booth is my name. I am Tsimshian and apart of the Raven Clan of Metlakatla, Alaska. As the Alaska Native & Rural Outreach Program and Cama-i Room Coordinator, I assist students living in student housing that identify as being Alaska Native, Native American or from a rural Alaska community. Away from UAA I dance with a Tsimshian dance group, enjoy arts and crafts, and raise my adorable 7 month old son, Jeffrey.
