Effective 8/14/15, UAA will no longer be sponsoring a
student health insurance plan except for International Students,
and Graduate Students who are RA's or TA's on a stipend, or Graduates
starting their first year at UAA who are in the WWAMI Program.
The Student Health and Counseling Center will continue to file claims for Blue Cross Blue Shield plans, on behalf of the student, for services rendered at the health center. Please make the insurance card available upon check-in.
A student may submit a claim to insurance companies other than Blue Cross Blue Shield, with billing information provided by the Student Health and Counseling Center.
UAA continues to remain a voluntary enrollment campus regarding the purchase of health insurance.
The Student Health and Counseling Center provides quality, accessible, convenient, and affordable healthcare to all eligible students.

Special Open Enrollment is available for those whose insurance was discontinued.
The Marketplace offers lower health insurance premiums for Alaskans within certain income levels. By creating an account and applying for lower cost premiums, you will be able to compare and purchase health insurance plans that meet your needs.
