Student Insurance

To purchase optional student health insurance through United Healthcare, students must carry six or more credits, with three credits in on-campus courses.

Information can be found online at www.studentresources.com or call 1-888-344-5989.  United Healthcare covers 100% of most charges incurred within the Student Health and Counseling Center, please call 907-786-4040 for more information.

SHCC will file claims for United Healthcare and Premera Blue Cross plans on behalf of the student. A student may submit a claim to insurance companies other than United Healthcare or Premera Blue Cross, with billing information provided by the Student Health and Counseling Center.

 Call the UAA Registrar Office at 907-786-1069 or send an email to records@uaa.alaska.edu for proof of student status for insurance enrollment purposes.

 

 

Affordable Care Act

OPEN ENROLLMENT FOR ACA MARKETPLACE INSURANCE STARTS NOVEMBER 15, 2014 AND ENDS FEBRUARY 15, 2015!

The Marketplace offers lower health insurance premiums for Alaskans within certain income levels. By creating an account and applying for lower cost premiums, you will be able to compare and purchase health insurance plans that meet your needs.

UNITED WAY (211) of Anchorage have upcoming Affordable Care Act Education and Assistance sessions.  

If you are eligible for Alaska Native and American Indian ExemptionAlaska Native Tribal Health Consortium (729-7777) can help you navigate the exemption or help you determine what insurance might be right for you.
