Mary Anne Wilson

Mary Anne always wanted to be a nurse and achieved that at age 19. She has worked in child and adult psychiatry, the operating room, and everything in between. She graduated with her ADN and achieved ANCC certification as an Adult/Geriatric Nurse Practitioner in 1974. She's practiced in Minnesota, Hawaii, Oklahoma and Arizona. She's been in Alaska since 1980, living and working in Bristol Bay until 1994. she returned to UAA for her BSN and MSN, completing this in 1994. She then became nationally certified (ANCC) as a Family Nurse Practitioner. She has worked at the SHC since then and has been the Director since February, '03.

Mary Anne was Administrator and health care provider for the Camai Medical Center in Naknek for seven years. She is a past President of the Bristol Bay Borough Assembly and was the Municipal Clerk for the Lake and Peninsula Borough for two years.
Mary Anne has been a member of the AK Nurse Practitioner Assn. since 1980, serving in many capacities, including President. She was the AK Nurse Practitioner of the Year in 2003. She has two extraordinary daughters, two great sons-in-law, and six wonderful grandchildren. She enjoys gardening, travel, and singing bass with the Sourdough Chorus of the Sweet Adelines. She and her partner own a small B&B in Seldovia.
