Sexual Assault Victim Assistance
When a sexual assault victim contacts the UAA Police Department, the Dean of Students Office will be notified as well. The victim of a sexual assault may choose for the investigation to be pursued through the criminal justice system and the University Student Code of Conduct, or only the latter. A representative from the Dean of Students Office will guide the victim through the available options and support the victim in his or her decision. If the victim is a residential student, a representative from the Department of Residence Life will notify the victim of options available to him or her and support the victim in his or her decisions. Various counseling options are available from the University through the Student Health & Counseling Center, the Student Development Counseling Services from the Dean of Students Office, and the Psychological Services Center. Support services are also available in your local community.

Standing Together Against Rape (STAR)
The mission of Standing Together Against Rape is to provide the best quality of crisis intervention, education and advocacy services to victims of sexual assault and sexual abuse, and their families and our community. STAR is located in Anchorage. However, STAR offers a wide variety of services statewide. If you are a victim of sexual assault, incest or child sexual abuse, if you have a friend or family member who is a victim, or if you have questions regarding sexual violence, please call the 24-hour Crisis and Information Line for information and support. All services are free and confidential.
