Student Union and Commuter Student Services Advisory Board

Meeting times have yet to be announced for the fall 2011 semester.

Meetings will be held in the Leadership Lab and our open to all students, faculty, staff.

The Student Union and Commuter Student Services Advisory Board exists to provide input and make recommendations regarding the facilities and services located within the Student Union and to provide direction to Commuter Student Services at the University of Alaska Anchorage.

 

What is the S.U. & C.S.S. Advisory Board

The Student Union and Commuter Student Services Advisory Board exists to provide input and make recommendations regarding the facilities and services located within the Student Union and to provide direction to Commuter Student Services at the University of Alaska Anchorage.

 

 The purpose of the Student Union and Commuter Student Services Advisory Board is to:

 

A.    Provide input on the programs, services and facility use of Student Union and Commuter Student Services.

1.     Review programs and services in the Student Union.

2.     Provide feedback, guidance, and vision on the facility usage of the Student Union.

3.     Review programs and services of Commuter Student Services.

4.     Provide feedback, guidance, and vision about Commuter Student Services.

 

B.    Make recommendations regarding programs, services and facility use of the Student Union and Commuter Student Services.

1.     Make recommendations to increase overall effectiveness of the programs and services that are provided within the Student Union and Commuter Student Services at University of Alaska Anchorage.

2.     Make recommendations to best utilize the Student Union facility for the students of the University of Alaska Anchorage.

 

The Student Union and Commuter Student Services Advisory Board will consist of 11 members.Students, faculty or staff will serve a one year term.

  • USUAA representative appointed by USUAA President
  • Club Council representative appointed by Club Council
  •  KRUA representative appointed by the Station Manager.
  • The Northern Light representative appointed by the Executive Editor
  • Greek Council representative appointed by Greek Council
  • New Student Orientation representative appointed by Director of Orientation
  • Graduate Student representative appointed by USUAA Graduate Student Association
  • Non-traditional commuter student representative appointed by USUAA President
  • UAA staff/faculty representative invited by Commuter Student Services Coordinator
  • Student Manager/Information Desk representative appointed by Student Union Operations Coordinator
  • Student Activities representative appointed by Assistant Director of Student Activities

 

All members of the Student Union and Commuter Student Services Advisory Board must be in good academic standing with UAA.

Meeting times for the Fall 2011 semester have yet to be announced. 

Meetings will be held in the Leadership Lab and a light dinner will be provided for Advisory Board members.

Meeting will be coordinated, chaired, and facilitated by the Commuter Student Services Coordinator.  Meetings are open to all UAA faculty, staff, and students.

 

Recommendations by Student Union and Commuter Student Services Advisory Board will be made in writing to the Dean of Students Office.  The recommendations will be forwarded to the respective areas, which may include: Associate Dean of Students, Director of Student Life and Leadership, Director of New Student Orientation, Club Council, USUAA, University Dining Services, Business Services.
