How You Can Help

 

 Sustainability Slideshow   Sustainability is everyone's business! To pass a healthy planet on to future generations, we all need to make changes now. In addition to some of the fundamental steps that have been outlined below, check out this slideshow to learn about some of the sustainable processes and procedures that UAA has put into action.  
     
undefined    1.   Find out more about Sustainability:
  • Attend the Sustainability Cafe discussions held monthly in the Bookstore.
  • Visit the Sustainability Resource Room, now open on the second floor of the Consortium Library (room 207I, next to the computer lab).  Over 150 books and DVDs on ecology, global warming, sustainable living, and related topics.
  • Attend the Bioneers Conference held at UAA in mid-October every year.

undefined     2.  Assess Your Behaviors
  • Do a self-assessment of your office practices  
  • Think about how your home life is structured.  What could you do to reduce emissions and pollution?  Save money?  Live more simply? 

3.  Get Involved! 

  • Learn what you can do to make UAA a more sustainable university
  • Join one of the Sustainability Council subcommittees
  • Let your public officials know that developing more sustainable practices makes sense and saves money
  • Tell your friends and neighbors about your sustainable practices, and encourage them to join you

4.  Support UAA's Sustainability Efforts
