Abuse Prevention Training Program
Training System Development and Evaluation
I. Prevention of Abuse and Neglect of Vulnerable Adults:
A partnership with the Alaska Department of Health & Social Services Prevention to create, deliver, disseminate, and evaluate a statewide curriculum to prevent abuse and neglect of vulnerable adults.
The State of Alaska and the University of Alaska Anchorage received a federal grant for a project concerning people who work with older and vulnerable adults in Alaska. (This means adults with developmental, cognitive, emotional, or physical disabilities or difficulties related to aging.) The grant focuses on issues relating to general care as well as abuse, neglect, and exploitation.
II. Child Welfare Training for Child Welfare Workers in the Russian Far East:
A collaboration with the Assistance to Russian Orphans program through the International Research & Exchanges Board (IREX).
