Junior year marks the start of your final "push" into post secondary education.  During this year you will begin determine you needs and wants for education after high school, and use these to select a few schools that you will apply to next year.  You also have to take your college entrance exams, and ensure that you have completed the appropriate courses for admissions into these colleges.  It may seem a little overwhelming, so here is a short list of things to keep in mind this year:

• Talk to you school counselor or UB Advisor to sign up for the October PSAT test.  The test is good practice and can lead to some very large scholarships if you do well.
• Make sure that you are signed up for classes that you are interested in and that challenge you.  AP and International Baccalaureate classes can save you time and money in college.
• Meet with your UB Advisor to start your college search, learn how to use college search tools, and begin determining what post secondary options might work best for you.
• Sign up for the spring SAT or ACT.  Talk to your UB Advisor, they can help you.
• Attend the college and career fair and take any opportunity that you have to tour colleges.
