I am a Graphic and Layout Designer
As a graphic and layout designer, you have the skills and tools required to make the perfect UAA website. But you must realize, before you start, that you are working under constraints. In other words, this is not the place for a showstopping display of creative freedom! Your work here represents the University of Alaska Anchorage, and as such must adhere to UAA's [Image System Standards], which dictate everything from color choices to fonts. Please review the image standards carefully and execute your project with them continually in mind. Innovation within limits is the theme.
It is also recommended that you familiarize yourself with, and use, UAA's [Content Management System]. While the CMS is not the perfect solution in every case, it is generally the most adequate and the most acceptable to all parties involved, including UAA's Advancement Department, the indirect client of every graphic design project undertaken here. Ask yourself before getting to work whether the Content Management System is capable of accommodating your project. If the answer is yes, then the CMS should always be used -- even if seemingly more glamorous solutions are also available.
