UAA offers Web hosting space for University of Alaska Anchorage students, employees, departments and organizations. You can customize this Web space and share information with the public. This is the type of Web space that you might buy from a hosting or domain reseller.

UAA Web hosting provides

• A set amount of Web storage
• Programming languages (ASP .NET, PHP, Perl and ColdFusion)
• Optional database access
• Optional custom uaa.alaska.edu domain names

All students have Web accounts automatically. You can use it for your Web publishing classes or maintain your own Web site. Contact the IT Call Center with any questions or requests.

All employees (faculty and staff) may request personal Web hosting accounts using the Web Hosting Request Form. UAA recommends that staff and faculty maintain their biographies, resumes and curriculum vitae in their departments' CMS site. UAA recommends that all course-related Web content be hosted in Blackboard. UAA Web hosting is intended primarily for custom applications and Web sites for things like personal resource or research project sites. Contact the IT Call Center with any questions or requests.

UAA recommends that departments' main site be hosted in the CMS to minimize costs and complexity. UAA Web hosting is intended primarily for custom applications and  special project sites.
