Good ergonomic practices can prevent long-term, chronic injuries.  It is the goal of this office to ensure the workforce at UAA is educated on the techniques to reduce the likelihood of an ergonomic injury.  Because much of the work at the University is administrative, much of the information listed herein is directed at an office setting.  But the principles are the same in any work environment:  adjust the equipment to meet the action of your body.

EHS can also conduct an ergonomic assessment in your office.  We will survey your equipment, observe your work practices, and make suggestions.  What we cannot do is fund new equipment.  But, if you are interested in an assessment, please contact our office.
