UAA HR Benefits
UAA knows that employee benefits are an important part of a total employment package. UA offers a comprehensive plan with various options available to choose from. The UAA Benefits Team is available to answer your questions and explain your benefits to you.
Looking for basic benefits information? This is the place to go. If you want more in-depth information about what the benefit package covers, visit the UA Benefits Page.
Enrolling in Benefits
All newly hired employees will be invited to Benefits Orientation. We'll go over all of the plan options available for you and your family. You'll receive your paperwork and be provided with instructions on enrolling during that orientation. If you don't receive an e-mail within two weeks from your hire date, please contact us at UAA Benefits Staff e-mail.
Visit the University of Alaska Statewide page for information on UA-Choice plans available to UAA employees including medical, dental, and vision coverage.
Eligible employees will be offered retirement. There are plans available through the State of Alaska Division of Retirement & Benefits and the UA Optional Retirement Plan.
Deer Oaks will be our new Employee Assistance Program (EAP) provider starting July 1. The change from ComPsych Guidance Resources comes after a competitive RFP earlier this year. The new program features additional face-to-face counseling sessions, increasing from 6 to 10 sessions per person, per issue. Here is the orientation presentation for the EAP here.
The university’s benefit programs have two distinct types of sick leave absences: absences for minor illness, injuries, and professional appointments; or absences for health conditions that qualify under the university’s Family and Medical Leave provisions. Click here for the Online Form.
