  • HR Consulting

    Our team of professional HR Consultants provide support to departments and employees on a variety of HR topics.  Ranging from compensation to performance management, the HRS Consultants are here to help you make UAA one of the top places to work in Anchorage. 

  • Recruitment

    HRS Consultants are the point of contact for their assigned departments regarding the recruiting, interviewing, and placement processes; they also assist in researching and providing solutions to meet departmental recruitment and placement needs. HRS Consultants review the recruitment process ensuring compliance with federal and state laws, Regents Policies, University Regulations, diversity goals, and equal employment opportunities.

  • Compensation

    Through position analysis, our team makes sure that jobs are evaluated appropriately to ensure fair compensation.  Our Consultants understand that a total compensation package is more than just wages.  For more information on total compensation, please contact your HR Consultant.

  • Benefits

    The HRS Benefits Team serve as resources to UAA faculty, staff, supervisors, managers and the Statewide Office of Human Resources regarding UA benefits. Our Benefits Team provides individual benefits counseling to clients and answers questions related to health insurance, life insurance, long term disability insurance, retirement plans and various supplemental plans. The Benefits Team also serve as the primary liaison for UAA clients with the Statewide Office of Human Resources and benefit plan vendors. Click here for your Benefit Plan Information. 

  • Payroll

    Payroll at UAA is a function within HRS. The Payroll Coordinator and Technician are responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for Anchorage and extended site employees. The payroll staff also provides technical assistance to the HRS Consultants, extended site campuses, and UA Statewide HR.

  • Labor Relations

    UAA has 4 bargaining agreements: Alaska Higher Education Crafts & Trades (Local 6070) University of Alaska Federation of Teachers (UAFT), United Academics-AAUP/AFT, and United Academics Adjuncts-AAUP/AFT-AFL-CIO. Consultants work in conjunction with UA Labor Relations staff and union-represented faculty and staff to ensure fair labor practices.

  • Systems

    The HR Systems Team manages the input of employee information into the HRIS system.  Dedicated to data integrity, our Systems Team provides training for Departmental HR Liaison Personnel, known as Cost Center Clerks.

    UAA is committed to the full inclusion of individuals who experience disabilities and to continually improving the accessibility of our campus, programs, and activities.  As part of this effort, the University has designated an ADA/504 Coordinator who will collaborate with University offices and departments to inform decision-making and ensure University compliance with State and Federal mandates.  Housed in the Office of Human Resource Services, the ADA/504 Coordinator is a referral point for disability related information, services and resources; consultation on policy and facilities planning; training on disability related topics; responding to disability related complaints; and development of disability related initiatives.
