MANAGEMENT & GOVERNANCE

IT governance is critical to align technology strategy, direction and spending with the needs of UAA's highly diverse academic and administrative needs. At UAA, IT Governance and management processes are tightly coupled.

As shown below, IT Governance is focused on strategy, mission and goals which define UAA's technology strategy and major direction.
IT Governance Groups at UAA and throughout the UA system ensure alignment between UAA's community and technology strategy and direction.

IT Management is focused on translating goals into technology infrastructure and providing a wide variety of technology-based customer services to UAA's students, faculty, staff and patrons. The Office of the CIO and IT Services are the principal groups involved here although UAA's campuses have distributed technology staff which are directly attached to certain colleges, departments and campuses which also have service delivery responsibilities.
