UAA Campus is Open
We are pleased to report the UAA Anchorage campus will open on Wednesday, Dec. 5, following last Friday's earthquake. The Chugiak-Eagle River Campus will remain closed, but classes will resume in alternative locations. Students should check UAOnline for their new meeting location. As you return to campus, we encourage you to check the web page uaa.alaska.edu/earthquakerecovery for important safety tips and resources about how to submit work requests to facilities for repairs. - Symantec Antivirus
Software to prevent, detect and remove harmful virus, trojan and worm programs from your computer.
- Java Runtime
Software to allow applications and web applets to run on your computer. UAA currently recommends using the latest version of Java provided by Oracle. Please visit the Java website to obtain the latest version.
- Java Runtime for Banner
For compatibility reasons, please use one of these version for java with Banner.
- Mac OS 10.12+ and Banner
Due to Safari 12 ending support for Java, you will need to use the following version of FireFox to access Banner.
FireFox version 52.9 ESR
Software to remove unwanted MalWare software from computer systems. UAA currently recommends the installation and usage of a free version of the MalWareBytes software on ALL computer systems. MalwareBytes Software v9
- Accessibility Assistance
Disability Support Services encourages the use of these programs and can provide training and support for those interested in learning more. The Premier Literacy Suite contains the Internet Toolbar in addition to several other applications including Text to Audio and Scan and Read Pro. Please contact DSS with any questions. - Virtual Private Networking (VPN)
Virtual Private Network application that allows access to local network resources from non-UAA network locations. The Any Connect client is installed through a web installer or by one of the manual installers below. The address that clients connect to is anc-vpn01.uaa.alaska.edu.

- SPSS Statistics
SPSS Statistics is a software package by IBM used for statistical analysis. IT Services has negotiated an SPSS Licensing Agreement that allows us to provide SPSS base at no charge to students currently registered for classes at the UAA Anchorage campus, Kenai Peninsula College, and University of Alaska Southeast.
SPSS products are also available to UAA-Anchorage, Kenai Peninsula College, and UAS departments at a discounted price through the UAA Technology Service Center.
