Involuntary Termination of Occupancy Housing and dining privileges may be terminated for cause. Cause includes, but is not limited to:

  • Violating federal, state, or local laws and ordinances.

  • Violating Board of Regent's policies, UAA policies, university regulations, rules and procedures, including the Student Code of Conduct.

  • Failing to maintain minimum enrollment requirements or academic progress.

  • Non-payment of housing fees.

The university may terminate the Housing and Dining Agreement without cause with a ten day written notice.

Termination of the Agreement by UAA with or without cause or abandonment of the assigned room or meal plan by a student does not release the student from financial obligations owed to the university. The Cancellation and Release Schedule of the Agreement will be used to determine appropriate release charges. Additional charges for damages may also be assessed.

Voluntary Termination of Occupancy A release from the Agreement after check-in is available and is subject the Cancellation and Release Schedule. The procedures for requesting a release and checking out are specified in the Housing and Dining Agreement.

Waivers of release charges may be requested, but may be granted or denied at the sole discretion of the university. The circumstances under which a waiver may be granted and the procedure for requesting it are specified in the Housing and Dining Agreement. Requests for waivers are reviewed by Housing and Dining Services and the Department of Residence Life.
